The tour most first-time visitors book. You start at the Miraflores Visitor Center, where the viewing decks sit right beside the lock chambers on the Pacific side of the canal. If a ship is passing, you see the water level change and the electric locomotives guide it through.
From there you head to Casco Viejo, the walled old town founded in 1673, for a guided walk through its plazas and churches, and finish on the Amador Causeway with the city skyline across the bay.
